The standard RVR3 attachment connects the unit to your trailer frame rather than to the coupler. This attachment is also sold separately and compatible with the RVR5 and RVR9 models.

The MV handles this well as you can use the coupler to move the trailer. This setup may prevent use of the unit with a JX or mounting bracket if there is not 8in of adequate space for installation.
