Can the XL attach to a jack?

An XL unit purchased after April 2024 does have the ability to have a side mounted trailer jack slotted in.

If you have an XL unit that was purchased before this time, you may need to have the rotating coupler replaced if you would like to use the unit with a jack.

The XL unit is often not compatible with center (coupler mounted) jacks as the coupler does not leave much space to maneuver the dolly.

Side mounted jacks are recommended.

Please note that use with a jack does lower the effective weight capacity of the unit to 8,500 lbs. Excessive side loading of trailer weight should also be avoided.

If you would like to check if your unit is compatible, you can check for a TV logo at the bottom of your rotating coupler (where your hitch ball base slots in).

If the logo is present, the XL can be used with a jack.

  The XL handles this well as you can use the coupler to move the trailer.
